Erica Meehan consults with distinguished clients in the media, museum, and learning worlds to develop and deliver dynamic projects and compelling content that generate powerful outcomes for national audiences and in local communities. Working at the critical intersection of media, impact, and philanthropy, she brings a unique perspective and more than twenty years’ experience in production, fundraising, program development, strategic partnerships, and non-profit management to each client and project. Her fundraising successes total more than $120 million raised from federal agencies, private foundations, and corporations for major educational programs from the world's most prestigious organizations.

Meehan specializes in developing cross-platform learning and engagement initiatives that leverage media, family programs, new technologies, and interactive experiences to move the needle for families and lifelong learners, with an emphasis on STEM disciplines and humanities content. She also assists clients with overall fundraising and engagement strategies, partnership management, project execution, and communications. She collaborates regularly with noted researchers to build on pedagogical research, advance learning theories, and conduct evaluations that demonstrate impact. 

 

Throughout her career, Meehan has designed and managed partnerships and sponsorships with such notables as the Girl Scouts of America, Dave Matthews Band, Disney, and the National Education Association, among others. She has authored federal grants to the National Science Foundation (NSF), National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), U. S. Department of Education, and Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) for major media and other learning programs. She has served as a co-PI and peer reviewer on multiple NSF panels, and as a consultant to the Department of Education’s Ready to Learn program.

 

Meehan's client portfolio includes National Geographic, PBS, CPB, Twin Cities Public Television, the Smithsonian Institution, the Center of Science and Industry (COSI), Media Impact Funders, MacGillivray Freeman Films, Cosmic Picture, and Wildscreen USA, among others. Prior to launching Meehan Media Consulting, she held management positions both in fundraising and non-profit media production, serving as Associate Vice President of Strategic Alliances at the Jane Goodall Institute and Manager of Film Production at National Geographic Entertainment. Her film production credits include Associate Producer on three National Geographic IMAX©-format features: "Sea Monsters 3D", "Forces of Nature", and "Lewis & Clark," and 3D Production Manager on “Lions 3D.”
